The babies all left to go to their new families this past weekend! Waaaaaah..it was overwhelmingly bittersweet. Tears were shed, but our hearts were full, seeing the pure joy in everyones eyes as they came to claim each pup. We loved the little fur balls like mad, but by the 8th week their curiosity was never ending (and slightly destructive, shhh don’t tell their new parents they chewed a hole in the bottom of my couch and climbed inside to play!!), their eating and pooping cycle was infinite, and they wanted to be running free more than peacefully snoozing. The pups were ready to go, and I was as ready as I could be to let them. Things, being much quieter around here, has left me some time to bond with our new, sweet little brown bear, Bailey, and help Mama Meg Meg get back in shape! I am also trying to get a grip on the out of control laundry situation. Having those puppies and boys running around together has sure been hard to keep up with! People keep asking if I’ll do this again. The answer is: probably, no. I have loved this experience and have cherished many moments along the way, but it has tested my limits. Meg Meg would agree, this whole puppy rearing thing is not easy, whew! Much like having humans, I’m sure I will forget how trying it was these past few weeks, and I’ll look back fondly on all the wonderful memories with our pups. Let this post be my reminder! Note to self: Do not raise another litter of puppies or you might go crazy!
Me and my old friend, a.k.a. the washing machine, have had quite the work out, keeping up with the puppy/toddler/kindergartener laundry cycle. Although, I am proud to say, I have enjoyed saving a few bucks and felt pretty awesome for making my own laundry soap, recipe found here. Dunno about you, but, Most of my other DIY projects go down in a ball of flames.
This is our sweet girl Bailey in the light blue and the feisty one above we dubbed “Little Red”!
Who doesn’t want a nap after doing laundry?!
This here is who we called “Naughty Charlie”. His innocent eyes only mask his many ways of trickery haha!
I’m not going to lie, I will miss these magical moments though.
